Fixtures

I see the SPFL aren't doing us any favours. With the midweek fixture at Annan on the 20th Feb, we now have to play a resurgent Clyde at home the following Tuesday - another four games in 10 days scenario which is probably the cause of our present blip.

Yes - bad news especially as Montrose will have a new lease of life after their win last Saturday!

With the Stenny game being rearranged for Tuesday March 13th it's going to be a massive week which could well define how our season goes.

Sat 10th Stirling A
Tues 13th Stenny H
Sat 17th Montrose A

Wow - that's a tough one and no easy games amongst that lot! Hopefully these other clubs have a similar flurry of pressure over a short period. Just hope Rory is back to full fitness.

Job done for the first part of the trio. With suspensions etc there were a few changes yesterday. Although Rory was on the bench we managed to get through the game without risking him. A front pair of Russell & Karim started & worked away, Russell picked up a knock before half time & hirplled off to be replaced by Norris who looked fairly promising for a start but think he did something to his foot & kind of dropped out of thing in the 2nd half, Karim showed some good touches but again tired later on which with lack of games is understandable. We got out of jail a couple times, 1st half Fleming misjudged a cross which came back off a post, 2nd half we had our customary moment of switching off at the back but the guy hit the bar. Our goal was worthy of winning any game, fine run from Jamie & when he got within range he fizzed one past the keeper who could only stand & watch. The team all put in plenty effort for what could be an important 3pts but again make things hard for themselves at times.

Out fought & out played by Stenny tonight, Rory fine free-kick was too little too late.

That about sums it up. Poorest performance for a long time and zero effort all over the park.

We had an opportunity to kick on but instead the pendulum has swung back to favour Montrose and we are under tremendous pressure now for Saturday's game.

What is it with Stenny Out of the last 8 games, we've won 1, drawn 1 and Stenny have won 6.

Well we will see what kind of a reaction we get on Saturday fortunately its still in our own hands but we cant slip up again. Saw somewhere somebody mention the nightmare scenario of ending up in the play-offs & facing Stenny in them.

In this sublime to ridiculous results season it really is doubtful anyone could predict with any certainty the result versus Montrose. That's twice this season Peterhead has failed to turn up against Stenny and if The Blue Toon fail to win the league those 6 points will have been massive, those two games have also been by far the worst of the season in my opinion.

Who to blame ? well there is a saying (you can only p!sh wae the c*ck you've got) and it was pretty limp on Tuesday if it could be witnessed at all, maybe it's time it's boss hardened it up and got it to perform !!!! Saturday at Links Park and then stood erect till the title is won

Was hoping to come on and say two out three ain't bad but sadly, it's all bad.

Out of our hands now and we're depending on Montrose losing 2 out 7 games when they've only lost 4 out of 29 so far and that's assuming we win our last 6.

The play offs now seem our only chance but the prospect of coming up against either Stenhousemuir or our nemisis from last season Forfar doesn't fill me with any great hope.

Have to try and get at least a bit of momentum going into the play offs if that is to be our fate.

I tend to agree Blueblazer. Montrose's strength is in their consistency and they look unlikely to slip up. Their confidence must be sky high whereby ours must be in the descendancy. As to play offs, I guess we have a 50/50 chance at best. If we fail again this season I expect many of the squad will move on and that is likely to include the manager.
