Reserves Game

Post by LangToun Loon » Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:23 am

Went up to see the reserves game last night versus Huntly. Paul Napier was out on the right wing for the full 90mins and he’s certainly got a bit of pace and bags of enthusiasm so he looks like a good future prospect.

Last season’s deadly strike partnership of Michie and Bavidge also played the full 90 mins with Bav showing good skills up front and having a couple of opportunities to score. Michie did set up a couple of chances but missed a good scoring opportunity. Hegarty did score with a sweetly struck low drive into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the 18 yard area.

It was good to see some of our developing talent and those like Good, Hagen and Hegarty who are trying to get themselves match fit.

It was cold a windy evening (why do we still have snow in April?) and the game finished 1-1.

good to hear that the fringe players and those needing fitness appear to be ready to come in to the first team if required in the run-in to the season and possible extra play-off games.

must be a bit of a thought to go and play (and support) at Huntly on a wintry midweek evening with the reserves!
