Pre-Season Friendly Weekend 7th/8th July

Post by ELLON BRANCH » Sat Jul 07, 2018 6:30 pm

Beat the Broch 2-1 through at Belslea today, tidy enough first half with Rory scoring a cracker. Got rather scrappy in the 2nd half with the usual multiple subs. The Broch scored when nobody was looking a punt through towards our goal bouncing over a defender & Gregs head. There was a bit of niggle crept in which the officials did not help with. The winner came from a breakaway from Jamie Stevenson who despite a defender having a swipe at taking him out managed to stay on his feet & beat the keeper. Hopefully no more injuries for the trip to Inverurie tomorrow.

Remember Inverurie is being replaced by it's stunt double, Nigg, tomorrow.

Its actually on our website dated Fri as follows
IT'S NEITHER HERE OR THERE!
Sunday's friendly match will now take place at the original venue... HARLAW PARK, INVERURIE with a 1pm kick-off.

Well done Loco's groundstaff for their efforts to get their facilities playable after Balmoral Stadium was declared no longer available!

4-0 win against Locos at Inverurie. Pen from Left Back Willie Gibson, think Ross Kavanah got one & the lad playing No17 whose name im not sure of got two one a cracking finish & the other a tap in after a saved effort from Aero. A lot of decent passing in the game that gave most players not yet signed a chance to impress.

Imageago
Decent fare today minus Rory and Ted and Paddy those featuring did pretty well. Trialist (2), Gibson (1) pen and capt, Kavanagh (1) were the scorers. Gibson turns out to be a fine left-back, defence were solid bar a couple of flutters, Greg his usual class, midfield hard working and productive and a forward gets a brace so all in all decent.

The Locos huffed and puffed but look short of TRAINing although they hit the woodwork twice, Mitchell and Leyden look useful but Angus although he looks as uf he can play was more a shunter than an Inter City 125 !

Enjoyed the company (both sides) but the journey home with the detour at Dundee wore us down a bit.

Our next outing a short day-trip to Brechin, see you there :)
