Prediction League Table

Post by strichener2 » Fri Aug 11, 2017 9:10 am

Sorry for the delay in updating but holidays got in the way of the season starting. I was pleasantly surprised to see us turning the game round in the last 10 minutes. Anyway well done to Alan for predicting the correct score and last scorer. Here is the table after the Annan Game

1. Alan         8
2. strichener2  6
3. Mary Doll    3
=4 akie         1
=4 Blueblazer   1
=4 bonzo        1
=4 Connor2905   1
=4 Glophead     1
=4 Rabc         1
=4 slines       1

Remember you have two jokers that can be played at any point during the season to double any points received in that week.

A repeat performance from the team against Elgin whilst predominately playing the ball on the ground - what a change from last season. Well done to RabC and bonzo for guessing the correct score and first scorer. Table after the Elgin game:

1. Alan         8 + 3 = 11
=2 bonzo        1 + 8 = 9
=2 RabC         1 + 8 = 9
=2 strichener2  6 + 3 = 9
=5 Mary Doll    3 + 1 = 4
=5 Blueblazer   1 + 3 = 4
=5 Connor2905   1 + 3 = 4
=5 Glophead     1 + 3 = 4
=5 slines       1 + 3 = 4
10 Nev          0 + 3 = 3
11 akie         1 + 1 = 2

There were a grand total of zero points earned by the team this week, a feat matched by the entire prediction participants! Here is the table after the Stenny game:

1. Alan         11 + 0 = 11
=2 bonzo        9  + 0 = 9
=2 RabC         9  + 0 = 9
=2 strichener2  9  + 0 = 9
=5 Mary Doll    4  + 0 = 4
=5 Blueblazer   4  + 0 = 4
=5 Connor2905   4  + 0 = 4
=5 Glophead     4  + 0 = 4
=5 slines       4  + 0 = 4
10 Nev          3  + 0 = 3
11 akie         2  + 0 = 2

Although commiserations to Blueblazer who change his predictor after finding out that Rory was playing resulting in less points than before the change. Here is the table after the Stirling game:
Wasn't Rory the last scorer? Think it would be 2 points for last scorer and 1 previously for a Stirling win. Should have stuck with the Stirling win but never saw us losing 4 goals. Someone else had Rory as last scorer also.

Duh! You are correct, I had completely forgot about the second goal. Still raging from our first half performance. I will update the table.

Well done to akie who correctly predicted the score and was the only one to pick up points this week. Here is the table after the Montrose game:

1. Alan         13 + 0 = 13

A comprehensive win and thankfully no-one picked any of the Browns as the last scorer as the BBC has 3 listed with no initials or names! Here is the table after the Cowdenbeath game:

1. Alan         13 + 3 = 16
2. RabC         9  + 3 = 12
=3 bonzo        9  + 0 = 9
=3 strichener2  9  + 0 = 9
=3 akie         8  + 1 = 9
=3 Blueblazer   6  + 3 = 9
=7 Mary Doll    4  + 1 = 5
=7 slines       4  + 1 = 5
=9 Connor2905   4  + 0 = 4
=9 Glophead     4  + 0 = 4
11 Nev          3  + 0 = 3

A rather poor performance from the predictors for this game with only two players gaining any points at all.

Here is the table after the Stenhousemuir Game:

=1 RabC         29 + 0 = 29
=1 Alan         29 + 0 = 29
=3 akie         22 + 0 = 22
=3 Blueblazer   20 + 2 = 22
5. strichener2  21 + 0 = 21
6. slines       20 + 0 = 20
7. bonzo        18 + 0 = 18
=8 Glophead     14 + 0 = 14 [First Joker played]
=8 Mary Doll    13 + 1 = 14
10 Connor2905   4  + 0 = 4
11 Nev          3  + 0 = 3

A good win at the weekend and a barrage of points in the predictor this week. Well done to akie with the correct score and bonzo, rabc and slines who managed the correct score and one scorer.

Here is the table after the Edinburgh City Game:

1. RabC         29 + 8 = 37
2. Alan         29 + 3 = 32
=3 akie         22 + 6 = 28
=3 slines       20 + 8 = 28
5. bonzo        18 + 8 = 26
6. Blueblazer   22 + 3 = 25
7. strichener2  21 + 3 = 24
8. Mary Doll    14 + 3 = 17
9. Glophead     14 + 1 = 15 [First Joker played]
10 Connor2905   4  + 0 = 4
11 Nev          3  + 0 = 3

With an enforced break, Peterhead looked rusty and only just managed to scrape past Cowdenbeath. Well done to Conner2905 for correct scores and result.

Here is the table after the Cowdenbeath Game:

1. RabC         40 + 3 = 43
2. Alan         35 + 3 = 38
3. slines       31 + 3 = 34
=4 akie         31 + 1 = 32
=4 bonzo        29 + 3 = 32
6. Blueblazer   25 + 3 = 28
7. strichener2  24 + 3 = 27
8. Mary Doll    21 + 1 = 22
9. Glophead     15 + 0 = 15 [All Jokered Out]
=10 Nev          6 + 3 = 9
=10 Connor2905   4 + 5 = 9

Happy New Year to everyone. A tremendous result for Peterhead against Montrose and unsurprisingly not predicated by a single participant.

Here is the table after the Montrose game:

1. RabC         43 + 3 = 46
2. Alan         38 + 3 = 41
3. slines       34 + 3 = 37
4. akie         32 + 3 = 35
5. bonzo        32 + 0 = 32
6. Blueblazer   28 + 0 = 28
7. strichener2  27 + 0 = 27
8. Mary Doll    22 + 1 = 23
9. Glophead     15 + 3 = 18 [All Jokered Out]
10 Nev           9 + 1 = 10
11 Connor2905    9 + 0 = 9

After the highs of the Montrose game, the team continued where they left off against Elgin. Unsurprisingly there were no correct score entries this week. :D

Here is the table after the Elgin game:

1. RabC         46 + 6 = 52 [1st Joker]
2. Alan         41 + 3 = 44
3. slines       37 + 1 = 38
4. akie         35 + 1 = 36
5. bonzo        32 + 3 = 35
6. Blueblazer   28 + 3 = 31
7. strichener2  27 + 2 = 29
8. Mary Doll    23 + 3 = 26
9. Glophead     18 + 1 = 19 [All Jokered Out]
10 Nev          10 + 0 = 10
11 Connor2905    9 + 0 = 0

Remember you have two jokers that can be played at any point during the season to double any points received in that week.

Please note that any ambiguity around your predication will result in it being ignored. ie. Listing "Brown" or "J Brown" as a scorer will not attract any points even in the event that only one Brown actually appears in the match.

It appears that my earlier posting of the latest table has vanished into the ether. Here is the table after the Stenhousemuir game:

1. RabC         52 + 3 = 55 [1st Joker]
2. Alan         44 + 3 = 47
3. slines       38 + 3 = 41
4. bonzo        35 + 3 = 38
5. akie         36 + 1 = 37
6. Blueblazer   31 + 2 = 33
7. strichener2  29 + 3 = 32
8. Mary Doll    26 + 5 = 31
9. Glophead     19 + 1 = 20 [All Jokered Out]
10 Nev          10 + 3 = 13
11 Connor2905    9 + 3 = 12

Remember you have two jokers that can be played at any point during the season to double any points received in that week.

Your prediction was:

2-1 to Montrose
Rory First and Last.

According to the rules, you get zero points as you got the score incorrect, the result incorrect and the scorer incorrect.

The rules were changed last year to include

"3b. If you predict that Peterhead will score a single goal and nominate the scorer, you will get 4 points only if Peterhead score a single goal and your nominated scorer actually scores. If the Peterhead score more than one goal then your scorer will only be applicable for the first goal and you will be awarded 2 points if the first goal is scored by your nominated scorer"

I can't see any problem with your score but feel free to get back to me if I have made a cock-up (not unusual) somewhere.
